Thoughts on a Z4 CLA

Since my Kievs are apart and awaiting parts, I decided that my 'new' old Z4 needed a cleaning. I am glad that I did as the previous CLA used oil of some sort and it had begun to creep and coat other parts. I finally got it back together this morning. The slow speed thingie really tripped me up. Mainly because I did not pay enough attention when removing it. I used white lithium grease when reassembling it. It is nice and snappy now. I may slacken the curtains a bit more later. I was having a bear of a time getting the tension set on those guys. It is just nice to know that just a short couple of days ago it was a pile of parts and today it is a functioning camera. At least I didn't have to replace the curtains. I am off to throw some film in it and shoot a test roll. First though, off to the bay to look for a collapsible I-22 or 50!!!😀

A successful CLA is always very safisfying. And you can tell yourself: "it was I who did it!". Congratulations...
