Ah- but I am a user. And I am reporting. And I know about forums. The Forumitis Negativus Syndrome is endemic to Homo Gullibus.
I'm sure you have quite a bit of nice gear too right?
I called Leitz this afternoon about my camera. Here is an update from Leitz NJ -
Sensor replacement has still not arrived from Germany. I asked if Kodak selling off their sensor division affects getting sensor replacements? The person said that, "Kodak has nothing to do with this. Parts come from Germany." I said I understand, but the sensor is made by Kodak. The person replied, "Not that I am aware of. Expect another 10 days or less for parts to arrive."
Unbelieveable.............
Deja vu all over again. Keith, it sucks that you have had bad luck. Hell, I have bad luck going to buy groceries, every line I get in is the longest, slowest line, always! But I still go.
Everytime someone posts a Leica problem thread, it goes to hell in a hand basket from Leica bashers.
This is the kind of crap that causes me to rethink even being on RFF. Not that your OP was a bad one, it's just that Leica bashers come out of the woodwork in droves.
Tell ya what, I quit.

you and me the same. If i somehow forked out the cash to buy an M9 id expect the durability. I will certainly hold onto my M6TTL and M3 for now and hold off from the Digital MWhy would someone react this way? Don't get it. It's a very expensive camera. One would expect far fewer problems. Is pointing this out and an owner expressing frustration "bashing"? I think users have been very patient. Far more patient than I would be if I spent that much for a camera that spents 20% of the time being repaired.
I wish they offered me a loaner ....
I wonder if you are dealing with a different Leica? The comment on the sensors from NJ hopefully is not indicative the level of dedication to the product the rest of the staff have there. Seems the service is inconsistent from one part of the world to another. You do have more patience than I would have but getting snarky would only make it worse. Hope it all pans out.

The vast majority of owners weren't killed by their Corvairs or Pintos, but generally we accept that those were not optimally-produced automobiles.
