Thoughts on some 35mm?

If you plan to use the Nokton 1.4 in the f/1.4 - f/4 range for the majority of the time and straight lines are important to you within your photographs, do not buy this lens. It does have a lot of distortion and it does have shift...this is not a myth. On digital, the CA is horrendous. That said, it is capable of nice photos in the right situations.

I like the 40 nokton a lot. Wide open you sometimes get a fairly jarring bokeh effect. Its love it or hate it.

On digital, the 40 Nokton doesn't display focus shift.

I wasn't too crazy about the 35 Nokton at the store as the copies I tried displayed considerable focus shift on the M8 at the time.

Im new to the scene. Only have the 50 1.1

My next logical step would be a wide. So torn between the 1.2 and 1.4.
I like my lenses sharp wide open (not sharp all over, but center-sharp is good enough).
Dont really care about the size. The price, 2x price means 2x saving time, thats all.
Really cant make up my mind...

(35 aint THAT much wider, almost 1.5x wider. Maybe get a superwide instead)
Uhh. So hard picking lenses when you are poor. :D

I currently have the V1 1.2 and think that it does a good job. I've had the 2.5 which was nice and sharp, but sometimes slow. The 1.7 was a very nice lens but the .9m close focus and the occasional flare was a deal killer.

I haven't tried the 1.4, but I think the 1.2 is the best of the CV group if you don't mind the weight. I'd suggest starting with the 2.5 and working your way up! ;)
