Congratulations. I love it but I've just sworn, again, not to look in charity shops any more...
Regards, David
PS Read and weep.
A charity shop tale; whenever I buy a camera I ask its history. I have this Leica IIIc with Summitar and asked, as usual.
Someone bought a camera lens dirt cheap and asked if they had any other cameras or lenses. The IIIc was produced and he offered UK £10 for it and got it (Sigh). I do wish he hadn't told me...

Now if I could only find the ACTUAL manual for the darn thing I'd be in good shape. Anyone know of anywhere I can get it?

As requested, here are some pics. These are nothing special, so don't be alarmed if they are amateurish or cliche.
The Matrix metering doesn't seem to handle highlights so well, and most of them seem blown out to me. I'm going to set it for centerwieghted instead no that I have found a manual.
Your thoughts?

Nice find indeed!
Just loaded film into my thrift-store found Yashica Minister II (EUR 5.00). Wanna have a thrift store shoot-out?![]()
That is actually a cool idea - to do a shootout from thriftstore cameras. I'm in.

I'll take some shots with my Retina IIIc and put them in the running.
Granted, that is an antique store find but it I picked it up at a thrift store price.

My steal was not as good as Nikon 35ti for 7 bucks or a Leica m3 for 15 bucks, but I picked up a Canon p Rangefinder body last week on KEH.com for 126.00 in excellent shape, viewfinder and all! The description said Flash sync not working, but after playing with the shutter speed dial for a while the flash sync works fine now!!!!!!!!!!!!! -K

We ought to be looking at the price paid in the charity shop as a percentage of the original price with adjustment for inflation...
And we could have classes in the completion for under 50p cameras, under a pound and so on.

Best deal I've ever got is a mint Contax T2 for £110($175) buy it now from you know where. Not unbelieveable cheap but still a really great deal. Looking at how much they go for currently, that was good deal when I bought it.

Gee, I thought I did well in picking up a mint XA w/A16 flash at GW for around $3.50. It works too, just like it should!

Uh oh, I'm having a problem. For some reason the exposure comp dial is stuck, although exposure comp itself still works. I started a new thread for it with more details: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=96382
