Thrift store find: QL17

Don't know exactly what the difference is, but this is not a GIII, at least it doesn't say that on the front. Just 'QL'.
I've loaded up my standard "first roll in the camera" film, Fuji Superia. I'll see if I can get some shots up by the weekend.

Hmm... photo in that link doesn't look like mine. The EE on mine is a small sensor just above the lens, like on a 28. But I appreciate the link to an interesting site, thanks.

Oh, man. Now I see why all the fuss about these cameras. I just got my first roll back. This lens is sharp! Really good results, the exposures looks good, except for the shots I took at noon, cloudless day, very bright, a little overexposed. A couple of times the meter said it was too bright, and the shutter wouldn't release. I switched to manual and shot on sunny 16, looks sweet!
I'll try to put up some examples this weekend, nothing exciting content-wise, but I'll throw something up.

I'm sure you will continue to be impressed. 🙂 I was really impressed by my first few rolls back from the GIII.

For some reason I think that mine may be underexposing a bit in bright light. I still haven't verified the accuracy of the exposure, but it looks somewhere in the ballpark. It does seem to be very close in low light, which is what I care about most.

I'm sure that you will find that your thrift shop "junker" will outperform many cameras costing hundreds. 🙂

Indoor shots with available light were right on, as were those using the Canolite D flash. Yes, I am very impressed with this little gem. So quiet. Jumps right to #1 choice for street shooting.

Hi,
The exposure error is likely due to the battery being 1.5v. The brighter the light the greater the difference caused by the different battery voltage. This is due the the relative difference between the resistance of the cell and the rest of the circuit 😉
