Hi,
I just got a Fuji GF670. It's generally fine ergonomically by itself but I'd to get a thumbs up grip to help improve the handling. Does any one here use one/know of one that fits properly?

Thanks!

I don't know about a thumb grip as I have not tried one (seems like it would need to be extra long to work effectively).
One thing I do find really useful with the GF670 is a wrist strap attached to the tripod mount.
A short-ish one really stabilizes the camera in your right hand.

I can’t find the thumbs ups here, I don’t think I sold them, but nowhere to be seen. In imagining it on the 667 I think it would not help, as it would make reaching the shutter button harder.

Almost everytime I use either of my cameras, the gf670 or the wide, I really want a thumbs up grip, it would work really well. Equally, as Stephen said, a wrist strap. I wish that there were strap lugs on both sides, both for a wrist strap and for hanging the camera around my neck.

Strap lugs on both sides is the only thing I would change. I have it in the dedicated leather case which has lugs on both sides, but the case is really ill-fitting. I may have my machinist make me an L bracket with a strap lug for the naked side.

The prototype shown at PMA 2008 had all the lugs we want:

God knows what went wrong with Fuji/Cosina in the final months before release...whatever the reason is they must think it's a good one, as they bothered to add a exposure indicator light below the later GF670W's eyepiece, but just not the horizontal lug. Should they ever offer a conversion service to have the lug added they'll have a line up.

Thanks for the suggestion Andy. I prefer neck straps + thumbs up vs wrist strap though;l I want to be able to put a camera around my body briefly if I need two hands.

For the record, I tried buying a cheap ~$9 thumbs up grip from Amazon but it doesn't fit all the way in the hot shoe, leaving a gag between the grip and the camera.

My guess is that one of the Match Technical grips might fit well, but it's hard to keep buying >$100 thumbs up grips and returning them if they don't fit...

I also have a leather case for both cameras, but it is, as you said, ill fitting. If you do decide to go the route of an L bracket with strap lug, please let me know, as I'd buy two
