A day late but better late than never...

'Thursday's Street Thread' is just a bunch of us showing some of their street photography and talking about it.

This thread is not about whether you like street photography as a genre, or whether it even exists as a genre. It is all about photographic images and their merits or faults within the genre. Constructive criticism is the key word. Please, comment on the images, and post your street photos for the constructive comments of others.

There's no membership requirement, no criteria, no voting, and no limit to the number of photos posted. The only 'rule' is that Thursday's Street Thread is about commenting on other people's pictures at least as much as it is about showing your own.

If you can, post images as thumbnails or attachments rather than as full-scale images, to keep the thread readable and fast-loading and to keep the server load low.

Anybody can start the thread on a Thursday morning.

Anybody can join in.

Okay Todd, I deleted it from the other thread and posted it here.

This was shot a couple of weeks ago in downtown Dallas, Texas.

Well Todd, now it will not let me load it. It says that I have already uploaded it on the Feb.28 thread, so I will find something else to put on here. :)

Rick,
change the name of the file on your hard drive (add an extra number or letter) and try again.

interesting image with alot going on, not sure of the main subject though...if any. The four guys on top of the "hill" seem to be observing something, IMHO this type of image works better as a series of images each lending an idea to the next. Not bad at all, I need to study it more.

Yep Todd, originally, the fellows on the hill were the main subject, but they were so far away that I waited for someone to come along closer to try and offset them a bit. The three girls came walking up and I thought that might work, but I am like you, I don't know if the shot works or not, to tell you the truth. Sometimes, when I look at it, I really like it and other times I wonder what the hell I was trying to accomplish.

That is a really nice shot, Lazar. I like how the guy seems oblivious to the beautiful women on the wall and the sexy clothes in the window. Especially because one of the women appears to be turning her head as he passes by. Nice stuff.

Rick, the Water Gardens in your shot reminds me the court of our University. Interesting concrete wall
Students use it as sitting or activity purpose

Well, I'll be damned!!!! How did you know that was the Water Gardens. :D
That is so funny.

They shut them down for a couple of years when some people tragically drowned there. This was shot on the day they re-opened them.

Todd - Way to get up close and personal. I like the square format on this one. Looks like you were using some highspeed film there :)

Michael - I would have loved to see their faces in this photograph. I think it would made this image a lot more powerful.

LZR - Funny shot, the lady with the glasses is definately checking that gentleman out.

Rick, if you put your mouse over the image, it will say its name. No magics.

In a momemt I'll show you the Industar L/D 55 mm lens of this street shot
