Tips on Scanning Scala

I scan using a dedicated film scanner with Vuescan. Any tips on scanning Scala? I assume that I would scan with Media = Image. Should I also scan at 16 Bit B&W as well? Any help appreciated.

Use multiple setting - or what's it called - to enhance dark parts. Scala is very contrasty so it is often useful to take max. advantage of Vuescan's capabilities. It does take longer but very worthwile.
