This is the question. If it were Canon would it smell as sweet.
Now that Shakespeare is rolling over in his grave, to the question about. Really it's which of my two systems to cover that range with. I have an X Pro 1 and the three original lenses plus the 18-55. I also bought a Canon T4i, 40mm STM, and 18-135 STM with the thought of using it for video and eventually getting lenses for wildlife.
I had resigned myself to just using my X Pro 1 for for 60mm and lower and the photography in that range. However, I have a problem - the shots I've seen with the XF 55-200 are superb and sharp. I'm still worried about the AF on the 55-200 working for wildlife.
So, what are the for and against factors to getting the 55-200 in the Fuji mount as opposed to getting one of the four 70-200's or 55-300 STM?
TIA,
Tony

The Fuji 55-200 is a wonderful lens. I just bought mine about a week ago. Very quick focus and very sharp.

if you get the 55-200, then you will have one less system to worry.
i sold my 5DII, 135L, 70-200 4L and now, if I need tele, I have the X-Pro1 w/ 55-200.
the X system with 55-200 will not get you birds in flight shots, or maybe wild animals running across the field (i haven't tried yet tbh as it's not my genre) but as a tele lens, it is fantastic.
from my experience, it's not as quick as a DSLR nor the OMD, slightly slow in low light but if your subject is standing still for 1-3 seconds, you will get it in focus.
here's some shots with X-Pro1 + 55-200

Not that well... not with fast moving subjects anyway, you need pdaf for that. For everything else it's very nice, I love mine.I'm still worried about the AF on the 55-200 working for wildlife.

Continuous focus and multiple burst shots.. It would be a maybe for any animals running or birds in flight. Personally I would not use it in that situation.
Even the omd has a hard time w/ birds in flight.. But it can do it.
Long tele work w/ fast action w/ unpredictable location movement is the domain of the dslr (u til fuji af speed gets better), unless u are extremely good at manual focus speed or ok with pre focus and patient enough to wait for the bird or animal to come into your zone.
