Today was like Xmas!

Today was like Christmas... all my stuff came into place!

First off, this morning I learned that Adorama was finally shipping an order I placed (get this) on Sunday, February 4th! It seems that since I used Paypal the payment got stuck in some kind of electronic queue. But it came through. I'll be getting my 1.25 Leica magnifier soon.

Then, last Saturday, playing the game of eBay roulette, I won (totally unplanned) a lens for my AF Nikon. The seller said he was going to ship it right away. I got an e-mail from the post office telling me the number of my shipment didn't exist.

The lens came in this afternoon.

Also, about ten days ago, one of my Tom Abrahamsson's softies (a classic in silver) came off my camera. I never imagined I'd be so upset. I came home that day and placed an order with Tom.

Well, the soft-release buttons I ordered came today too! 🙂

So, it was like Christmas... 😀

I know the feeling having gotten the Serenar 85/2 I won on ebay that included unexpected goodies - finder & original Canon hood. It's a nice feeling isn't it?

Yep, Christmas is nice... and apparently it came earlier this year.

Now... I have to wait until tomorrow for a "lens test"... and there's a threat of snow around here! Bad news for electronic cameras.

Who cares... my gear is again coming into the Zen zone. 😉

Funny thing is that... I did want that lens. It simply happens that I won it unexpectedly, with a bid that was just 3 bucks higher than the highest bidder's, and only 5 minutes before the auction's end.

Now, the lens is sitting on my dining room table; it's big, unwieldy, long... and, as of now, "untested".

You guys are right... it's a nice feeling! 🙂 Hadn't happened to me in a long time.

😀 funny, this is a nice day also for me. My Canon EOS 300D bought from Clarence arrived today, the sun is shining after weeks of gray and rain, and my girl has a job! 😀

Today there was a madman that was taking photos while riding on bike no hands ;-P

Okay, DeKalb, now I know why my place is such a *barren packageless wilderness* right now... all the good vibes and delivery guys are working south of me! In all the bustle of them running back and forth to your door, you didn't notice any Siberian looking, dust covered, small brown boxes thrown back in the dark corner of their little truck? ... with my name on it?

Enjoy, Francisco! Yeah, we got the snow, but enjoy them anyway. I've found if I carry on, at least in some manner, despite the snow, it's doesn't bother me so much. Get that lens out there and catch some kids sledding or something.

Ken, Tuuliki, Tom's wife, told me that her husband recommends nail polish instead of Loc Tite to keep those useful buttons in place. Needless to say, once home, I made sure my black button was firmly set in place, and when the silver one came, I did the same with it: a small dab of polish in the groove, let it get sticky, and then put it in place.

CVBLZ4... I remember you being in IL. Yes, we got snow, but my school didn't cancel classes. And the blizzard was relentless through the entire day. I have a very nice looking series of dunes in front of my driveway.

Heck, as long as the postman can make it on Thursday or Friday, whe he brings my little magnifier to its new home... 🙂

BTW, you guys reminded me that I should have taken something with this morning... I missed a very visually intense morning.

But then, it was blistering out there too! 😱 I doubt any battery would have survived beyond a few minutes.

Come to think about it... that's when the M3 comes in handy. Oh, well...
