Oh boy. Seven Rolleiflexes of various vintages, 3 Rolleicords, 3 Autocords, 3 Diacords, 5 Yashicas of various models, 2 C220s, 4 Ikoflexes, Kalloflex, Rollop, Primo Jr. Several in need of work but I'm counting them anyway. A Sawyer''s Mark IV and Baby Rollei soon to arrive. I think that's it.
mamiya has c220s? i thought the last c2 series is c220f... mamiya only got c330s?

I have so many but I still want more. Imo you can't have to many.

Thinning the herd. Just de-accessioned three of my best beauties: Autocord II CDS, Ricohmatic 225, and a Yashica D with 2.8 viewing lens and Yashinon taking lens, all in primo condition. Suffering separation anxiety, taking comfort in my Rollei 3.5E3 with 6 element Xenotar.

I'm torn. I have an Autocord and Rolleiflex 3.5F Planar which I love. I just wish I could get the ergonomics of the Autocord (or a Ricohmatic 225 or Kalloflex - I'm really curious about it) and the lens of the Planar.
That would be my ideal TLR. Unfortunately it doesn't exist. If I had a lot more courage and spare money I'd probably try hacking something together. Don't want to do that to a working camera though. :\
Until then, 2 TLRs work fine for me. I'd probably be fine with one but I can't bring myself to part with the Autocord.

Those three cameras have really distinctive and interesting handling. The Kalloflex with concentric film-advance lever and focusing knob is really fun to shoot, and the thing's a tank.

Definitely! My main issue with the Rolleiflex is that I end up switching hands all the time as I go between focusing and winding. Minor, but I realized how much I prefer the handling of the Autocord when I shot it again after using purely the Rollei for a while. I haven't handled the 225 or Kalloflex but both seem like better ergonomic solutions to me akin to the Autocord.

If you can't get hold of a Ricohmatic 225 to try, the Diacords have similar dual-lever focusing, but lack automat features such as crank-wind film advance and shutter charging, nor top-to-bottom straight line film path (in this regard the 225 is like the Autocord).
The Kalloflex layout as far as I know is unique among TLRs. It even has left hand shutter release, which works really nicely in concert wth the rest of the controls. Very fast handling. No immediate plans to let mine go.

Brian, you might find a Rolleicord V is a TLR you get along well with. Focus and Wind knobs are both on the right and there's nothing wrong with the Xenar lens fitted to them. Separate shutter cocking, of course, but that never bothered me.

For the reasons Brett gives, I find the V (rather than the Va or Vb) to be a well-sorted, nice handling TLR for those of us with only two hands (Rolleiflex users find a 3rd hand very useful). I'm keeping mine for now, having just let go of the similarly-designed Yashica D instead. A lot to be said for right-hand focusing knob winders with Tessar-type lenses.

What's not to love? Twice the lenses, twice the goodness. Like ice cream with ice cream on top.
Plus, for what you can get for your dollars, euros, pesos or yen, they are cheap as chips.

I wish I could have a TLR of my own to love
I'll have to read more about them to figure out the best bang for your buck TLR is. I'm particularly drawn to the Yashica-Mat 124 and the Rolleiflex models.

Two for me: Rollei 2.8D & Mamiya C3. Very different character to the 80 2.8s on these. Glad to have the lens-switcheroo choice with the Mamiya. Have a 65 and a 180mm so the Mamiya can play tele/wide to the Rollei's fixed standard. Bonus to have the Porrofinder for straight-on shooting from the monopod.
@nico, a Yashicamat 124 is maybe the easiest way to get into tlr in a decent but not too pricey way. There are many in good shape & not as old as much of the pieces on his thread.
But why not ask some of these tlr-hoarders to give you a good deal and post a WTB ad too? I bet you'll get an offer that will make you happy.

One Rolleiflex 2.8f and two 3.5fs planar, one Mamiya C330 w/80mm lens, two Minolta Autocords. All great cameras with wonderful lenses. I do like how the C330 80mm lens draws. The Autocords and Rolleiflex 3.5f lens are very sharp.

But I sold my collection of pre-war Baby Rolleiflex and nearly all Yashica 44 (each version in nearly each color), ~15 pieces, I kept only the two post-war Baby Rolleiflex…
what is that little one on the far left hand side?

The TLR choices are: Rolleiflex 2.8C, Rolleiflex 2.8E, Rolleicord (old and worn out), Yashica 124G, Yashica 24, Yashica 24 (yes, two of them), and a Yashica 44.
I'm going to take some informal people pictures this weekend, and decided to use the Rolleiflex 2.8C with off-camera flash, pistol grip, and Rolleimeter. My son says it looks like something from Star Wars. He's going to be my lighting manager; he gets to hold the flash.
