Canada Toronto area RFF member meeting this summer

The finals will be over, but if that is the day of the entry draft, we'll still need the TV. :D

The Island would be OK; we've also done Port Credit (Gene's turf) before to good effect.

July 21st is okay with me. Are the Stanley Cup finals over by then, or will we need a place with TV so you can watch your Sens?

The way the Sens are playing, the Cup will be in Anaheim by this Thursdayy morning......

Well you will... just on days of departure and arrival to and fro lands unknown... whereas I will be there - and that's really all that counts.

:p

Bump. For those coming in late, signs point to July 21st as the preferred date, with Toronto Island and Port Credit being put forward as suggested locales.

Should we take a straw poll on where to meet? The day approacheth fast ... So far we have two suggestions (other than Distillery District):

1. Port Credit (chez Gene)
2. Centre Island

Any other ideas? Maybe Mike would have a suggestion for Hamilton/Burlington area?

Damn, I am double booked for the Weekend of the 21st.

If it was another weekend....I would even suggest my part of the world(which is a little further west than Gene). Downtown Oakville is very pretty and there are options for coffee and Beer.

Bill

It would be nice to do something that hasn't been done before... or in a while... I vote for Toronto Island... unless Gene can't make it... then I vote for Port Credit... just to see Gene, though.

there's always some where to get beer...

:D

Sounds awkward to say the least, though. Quote from the City of Toronto website:
Alcoholic beverages
Individuals/organizations may not bring alcohol onto Toronto Island. Alcoholic beverages may be purchased in advance from Centreville Amusements and Catering. Please phone (416)203-0405 for details.

We no doubt want to be near the water, & in or near a pub. Is there anywhere else that offers beer (&/or coffee) lakeside? Port Credit sounds good to me; saves a lot of head scratching.

So, I just noticed this thread and would love to join in. However, I will need to work some magic if I want to be in Toronto next weekend... No promises, but I'll see what I can do!

It's the weekend after next, isn't it?

Does your "magic" involve a rabbit, and a hat?

:D

Yes, it's the 21st, two weekends from now. Since there hasn't been any consensus, I suggest we just do Port Credit.... say noonish or 1:00 at the harbour? Or we could meet at the Harp for some sustenance/focusing fluid and delay being outside until the light is better.

Gene is away at the cottage at Sauble Beach until next weekend, so I'm sorta volunteering his turf in his stead.
