I went from Chicago to Jacksonville on the plane and then drove for 2.30 hours to Tallahassee.

Not a place I would want to comeback by myself...

I have to return overnight rental with full tank.
"No credit at the pump".
Walking to the shack.
"Could I pay for full tank?"
"No, you have to pay for gallons"
"I don't know what gallon and how big tank is"
"10 gallons"
Walking back to the pump.
Tank is not full.
Walking back to the shack.
"I need another ten gallons"
Walking back to the pump.
It took one gallon to full tank.
Walking back to the shack.
Dude is counting cash.

In Canada it is often one tap at the pump... And I don't have to convert my postal code to the ZIP...

But they have two dollars booze in our H inn. And complimentary beer on check-in!

Downtown somewhat exist. And I never seen so many dollar stores...

We made it to the lighthouse on the Gulf of Mexico right before gates closing.

I saw my first alligator in the wild. It was size of large gekko....

At my very first ride alone I went to Ukrainian Village by walking from Weston.
My company phone and Google Maps lead me into completely different Weston on return...

I have been in this town for four days. Then I told at local Target how I liked it :) they smiled and answered "it sounds scary".
In this smallest Target store I ever seen they had more booze than toys for kids...

Great stuff. Good job! Thank you for posting this because I will never step foot into an airport again. Ever since they started treating ME like a terrorist, well, enough of that. Too bad too, because I liked airports for their odd ambiance. When you're there, it's like the old line about Oakland "there's no there, there". Airports are not a destination, they're like limbo.
We need more limbos, minus the TSA "folks". The great thing about never flying is that it has led me to rediscover trains, which I just love to travel on. Went from St Pete, Fl to Abq, NM via Chicago and D.C., and no one asked me for a ticket, an I.D., searched my bags, nothing. Very civilized. Like traveling in a different (better) era.
I've never liked Florida despite living in coastal cities for many years. Besides, why would anyone live there and be inland? Florida is about the water, the wildlife, and the beaches. Now if they could just get rid of those pesky people I might go back for a look see.

Thank you both!

Previous weekend was my last trip to Chicago. I quit from my previous job, which was required travel to Chicago. But it is nice city to visit with family. I hope to come back one day.

It is eight+ hours drive from our town. To make it by the plane is it 3 hours before airport, two hours between airports and one hour from the airport. Six hours instead of nine. Not something I would call as significant.

Been visual minority at Pearson, maybe the reason I was checked for explosive trace twice out of three times. It is actually better. Quick check and then skip the line.
I will miss airports. I read people, just like people read something on their phones all the time. But now I'm on the go train twice a day, which full of people to read as well :)
