Canada Toronto get together Oct 27th?

I'll probably have to give this meet a miss. With my work hours, noon is about when I begin to consider getting up on a Friday.

Peter

Peter, I think the plan is to meet for lunch and then spend the afternoon shooting somewhere around town. So, you could meet up with us a bit later in the day if that's better for you. Bill can fill you in on the details since he's our unofficial organizer! :D

Ok Friday the 27th, so we can get a table at the Rebel, can I have head count here and I stop by and stake out a table if I am there first. There is an upstairs there. We can meet for 11:30 and beat the lunch crowd.

Directions, take the yonge subway line to Rosdale Subway station, exit, walk towards Yonge St. cross to the west side, walk north past the piano dealer and the Rebel House is right there. Trust me on this one, its worth getting a table.

Peter, I will PM you my cell # if you want to hook up with us later on.

It turns out that there is a good chance that I'll be working and babysitting my niece all day that day, so please don't count me in this time. Have fun boys and girls, and if it turns out I can be there, I'll know how to find you!

Sounds easy to find, Bill. Count me in. Never one to pass on good grub and fresh ale... meant to say fresh film, didn't I?

Gene

Grub, ale and cameras/film. - I like that, Gene! And sorry you can't make it Frank since I was looking forward to meeting you. BJ, sorry you have other committments that day but hopefully that will change.

-Randy

P.S. Oh, and Bill, you can count me in the headcount! :p

Ok, I had a chat with the staff at the Rebel today, we are definately meeting at 11:30 am at the Rebel House, upstairs. It does get busy but they do have a couple of big tables on the second floor. I am going there for 11:30 and claim a table.

Further update, looks like the grey wet weather continues on Friday. So depending if its dry or not, it could be more a show and tell day than a shooting day. Either way The Rebel House at 11:30 AM upstairs.

Bill

Thanks, Bill, for all your efforts to coordinate this gathering. I'm looking forward to meeting you guys.

And yeah, I checked the weather report and things do not look good for shooting outdoors. Possibly some good candids at the Rebel House. Is there anywhere we can go Friday afternoon that's indoors and might provide some interesting shooting opportunities?

-Randy

P.S. Man, the weather report looks grim to this California boy. Your highs are below our lows right now. And no sunshine... what's up with that?!? ;-)

A warm up for SAD for us. Its a weather system that has been hitting Canada and the US North East for the last 2 weeks almost. Think um, Scotland and shoot accordingly, think of it as an adventure because California weather, though nice can get a little boring.

Bill

I am going to do my best to be there. I've got to change a few things around.
Rebel House, Roxborough and Yonge, 12 Noon, shoot after.
Sounds like a wonderful afternoon. I need this!!
Look forward to meeting you.
Cheers,

Right back at you, Dave. See you and everyone else on Friday.

And Bill's right. The weather is less severe than I feared. So shooting on Friday afternoon is definitely on!

-Randy

Unfortunately, i cannot rearrange as i thought, so will miss the meeting at Rebel House on friday.
Next time. I could have used a good afternoon shooting.

Sorry to hear that, Dave.

And Bill, I sure hope this incredible weather holds through to tomorrrow. I'm looking out the window at nothing but sunshine right now! :) :)

I'll be up in the Kawarthas musky fishing, bringing a user M3 and cheaper lenses.
See you next time fellas.

Mike didn't you learn your lesson last time you mixed boats and cameras.

Yep, I had a great time. Hopefully everyone else did as well. Thanks again, Bill, for organizing the gathering. And thanks, Jan, for escorting me there. And thanks very much, Guy, for showing me around town for the rest of the afternoon and evening. And dinner at Sidhartha and listening to tunes at your place was great!

I uploaded some of my pics into a folder in my gallery. Nothing all that impressive, but thought you guys might enjoy seeing them nonetheless.

Thanks again everyone and I look forward to a return visit soon.
