I'm actually thinking about it. I picked it up at a yard sale. Body is in great condition, the curtain needs a patch or replacement, the case is a mess, and the 5cm SC 1.4 looks perfect. Problem is, I'm a poor boy and I'll never be able to afford glass (or anything else) for this thing. I'm thinking about swapping it out for a body that gives me access to more affordable Leica standard screwmount glass. The S should = lots of FSU. Any thoughts or advice? A Leica III or early Cannon body are also possibilities. Any idea of current value? I realize the S is the red-headed step child of the early rangefinders, but e*ay prices seem to be all over the place.

the camera and lens are worth $200 if you consider the bad curtain, $300 on a good day.
UNLESS, you have a real early one, then the price can rocket up!
What is the serial number of the camera?

I suspect you could trade for a user condition Leica III and lens.
Post some pictures of the camera and lens.

I can fix the curtain, I was also thinking about pulling up the back leather to repair the "zeiss bumps". I was thinking the body and lens were more in the $35-$400 range.
SN# 60963xx, early, but not early enough for the MIOJ engraving.

Take a look at my current classified at at RFF. Maybe there is stuff you like?

If you do all that, $350-$400 is not far fetched...
But then, you can keep the camera and stick a Jupiter on it. Or find an old 3.5cm f3.5 for around $100-$150.

If the camera gets fixed, the value goes certainly up, as Kiu has stated.
