Trick question for you: what is unusual about this image?

(And it is not the obvious, although it is related to the obvious.) 🙂

Wayno - spot on! Well done! I thought that would have people guessing for a while.

Just for fun, I spooled some 35mm B&W (Ilford 617) onto the backing from an old 120 roll, and ran it through the Hasselblad. There might be some projects where that might make for a useful effect.

It's a cool shot - I was wondering what camera you used. How did the spacing/winding work out in the 'blad? What ASA is that film?

Thanks Wayno. The winding and spacing is exactly as normal, as the film is wound onto the normal backing paper. The only difference is the width of the film, so it's cropped for width. The Ilford 617 film is notionally rated at 400 iso, but it's fairly old - some bulk rolls I bought on ebay. I shot this at 100 iso and developed for 6 minutes in ID-11 1+1 at 20C, and it came out better than my earlier efforts at higher iso. I might try some more at slower iso, and also try developing with Microphen.

Cheers!
