Suppose you press out the dent or replace the top... Will you then put the meter on the camera again? How will you prevent it getting dented a second time?
I'd be inclined to get it fixed now, perhaps along with a CLA, then either figure out a way to prevent the meter from scratching or denting the top or just not use the meter on the camera again. A hand-held incident meter is preferable anyway, isn't it?
