TTartisan 35mm f1.4 aps-c

As far as whether a lens is ‘dross’ or not once again I recommend an old article by Mike Johnston, (from September, 2002 but still valid),
“The 50mm lens and Metaphysical Doubt”
Look it up, great read.

@nzeeman

Thanks for the review.

I do not have a normal lens for my Fuji mirrorless because I am not a big fan of lenses with normal focal lengths for general shooting.

However, if I ever need a fast normal lens for my Fuji, I will seriously consider the TTartisan 35mm f/1.4 for less than $100.

Yes - but not everyone owns every wide angle lens that's available in the M-mount.

In my case - I purchased a 7Artisans 35mm f/1.2 Mark II for my Sony a6400, even though I have the Sony 35mm f/1.8 prime, which is a very acceptable performer.

The reason for the purchase: the Sony OEM prime lacks a distance scale.

The 7Artisans lens not only offers a distance scale on the focus ring - but also a depth of field scale on the lens barrel. Bottom line: I can set the a6400 to its aperture priority mode and do some zone focusing street photography.

The good news: I like the direct connection of the manual focus ring these lenses offer versus the focus by wire feel of the OEM lens.

Bad news: To me at least, these manufactured in China after market manual focus lenses remind me of the Soviet lens rabbit hole. My gut feeling is there are going to be some dodgy ones in the mix.

That said - I just purchased a Kamlan 21mm f/1.8 -

Does the A6400 not have a distance scale as an on screen option? Would have thought this would have been better because you could use peaking, scale and compose all at the same time?

Ignore my question if you just like real manual focus lenses and not by wire, I do understand.

I’ll ask again, why go for the dross when native adapters open up real options?

show me cheap and small adapted lens... eveb smallest ones like hexanon 40mm f1.8 are huge compared to any of these chinese ones. even my jupiter 8 adapted and ultron 35/1.7 are huge and ultron is less sharp than this one so i never mount it on my fuji... my fuji 35/2 sits in drawer for months now-i dont know if i should sell because xc version drove price down so i will just lose money...

i use only risespray 35/1.2 and ttartisan 35/1.4 - tt much more because of clicked aperture...

Has anyone tried the new 50mm f1.2 from TTArtisans?
This Lens interests me to use on a 4:3 camera. It’s very new so haven’t seen much about it from users.

That statement was a bit harsh.

Perhaps. I take it back. But with an M adapter made by the manufacturer itself, you get the best of all worlds. The corner smear seen on FF Sony won't be present on an APS-C sensor.
It is indeed unfortunate that Cosina has fixated on the dwindling µ4/3 market and has not made its excellent lenses for Fuji. Someone should reach out to Head Bartender to ask why.

i maybe try soon - have offer to get it for 50eur so i guess its a good deal... but i feel like its too tight for me - i made very little photos with 50mm (75 on apsc) in last few years... also i asked i dont know how many times that someone make us dedicated chinese lenses subforum and help us easier share info about them - but they all ignore it. its really discriminating because 7art, ttart, pergear, zonlai and kamlan (to name just biggest) made more lenses than many producers that have their own subforums..

Cheap? I don't know how you define that. CV 4/21? CV 4/25? MS Optics 2/28? CV 2.5/35? Leica 50 Elmar M? All pretty compact, some well priced.

Yes, ‘cheap’ can have many meanings, depending on context. Personally I prefer the the phrase ‘good value for the price’. (Which again means different things to different people.)
I really believe this price situation with these Chinese made lenses won’t last very much longer. So right now it’s good times for ‘bottom feeders’ as some of us are.

all those are expensive to me-i spent 300 on fuji 35/2 and that was most i ever gave on lens... still i find it expensive for no reason...

and also good vaquality for price is very well defined-i saw tests 7art vs summilux and 7art kills it in every aspect... so 7art is normally priced while leica just sell us their brand and some "magic" that only people that blow few thousands on their lens see... also i never saw that much distortion in any chinese lens - but i saw it in fuji and cosina 35mm... so even they sell us crap masked as pie... and anyway - guy that dont see point in chinese lenses please stop intruding every topic i make about them- if you dont like it you dont need to try and prove us that blowing 10000 eur on noctilux is good idea... you have so many threads for your favourite brand and enjoy your time there praising each other magical leica results... bye

I was just curious because was intending to get a fFuji for my niece. If you feel intruded, that’s your issue, dude. As it would seem rudeness.

Bye, indeed.

thanks - im sick of stuff like - why chinese lenses when you can use adapted cv and leica... well just because its lens like any other so lets continue with topic and topic is just lens and photos with it. i never see someone interrupted leica lens thread with saying ah why summilux and not some other random lens...

hey really like your photos, especially your different angle on Amsterdam. Well done.

thanks! but i really hope others will post as well - i like more when many people join-its weird that i am here only who post photos...

I don’t have this lens to post any photos but yours are very impressive. I have a large collection of legacy Pen F half frame lenses and will likely buy a X-E3 for a compact street kit and this TTArtisan lens looks like a good budget choice.

Your welcome. Not quite sure what any of the above means. All I was interested in was experience with adapted lenses to Fuji bodies. I’ll leave you to pinholes and the like. Answers to be found elsewhere.
