Is there somewhere photos how the Camera was rigged on the Periscope? Or even a German manual?

Don't know about the Contax but I did see an Argus RF that was used on American Subs in WWII (Nautilus museum in Conn). The eyepiece on the periscope is just like any other eyepiece and the camera is mounted just like it would be mounted on a microscope. The lens is removed and an adapter tube is put between the camera and eyepiece. Is there somewhere photos how the Camera was rigged on the Periscope? Or even a German manual?

There was a modified Kodak 35 for the US Submarine forces to shoot through the periscope. It looks like some sort of visoflex setup.
I'm certain the Germans would have had a similar setup

The only Periscope I have longer experience with is the the 600mm infantery observing Periscope. The Picture out of that Oculare is only ca 14 mm in dia so like with the Minox photographing through the standard Lens make sense and now the negative grows to full high at least. Just fokus at eternity.

I guess the equipment required would presumably be very similar to that used for microscopes for which I can find plenty of references to Leitz equipment (Mikas etc) but have no leads for Zeiss.

Here's a photo of a Contax (looks like a III) recovered from U 534 taken by Griswald:

Never heard of a Contax-persicope camera, but I do know a Leica periscope-camera exists:

In H-J Kuc's Auf dem Sphuren der Contax is a picture in bind I of a stereo Contax I with mount for a U-boat periscope on page 108.

Looks like that Contax III was stored in a really humid environment....

I was wondering how to remove the chrome plating from old cameras effectively, looks like all it takes is a few decades of soakng in salt water.

Funny thing is, the US Navy used some Primarflex as periscope cameras in WWII. Yes, that is a German camera

Every Kodak Medalist produced during the war went straight to the US Navy as well as I recall.
