I have been searching for a UW housing but can't really find one that is an exact match. I sent an email to ewa-marine to see what they recommended and here is the two emails they sent back. Interesting what they had said and at different times.
Cheers,
Chris

Hello Chris,

I would recomand the U-F or the U-FX housing for this camera. The U-FX also supports the use of a mounted flash.

Best regards

Urmmm.... How are you going to focus it? Don't forget that underwater, a 35mm becomes a 50mm, and then you have the 1.6 crop on top of that. You would pretty well need a 21 or 15mm stopped down to 5.6 or 8

Chris,
This may sound like an unorthodox solution, but one I am considering. I have a Sony DSC-V1 which when I purchased it one of the deciding factors was that Ikelite makes a housing for it. Shortly after I bought the camera Canon introduced the S70 with a wider zoom, higher MP, and RAW capability -- they also offer their own UW housing which is rated as deep as the Ikelite and is much more comapct. An S70 new is about $450 and the Canon housing can be found for less than $200 new; an Ikelite housing for my Sony costs close to $900. I'm going to buy the S70 and Canon housing instead of the Ikelite for my Sony.

Nice... not a bad price either. I would try focusing with only the right hand to see how you'd like it, preferable with goggles on too. Of course, the housing would work for just about any camera, which is handy.

I have 2 underwater housings, both were ordered and custom made. I would not consider the
ewa marine solution with a RD-1. A proper housing for the RD-1 would probably cost about the same as the Body. Not too long ago all housings were custom made, It is really in the last 10 odd years that the mass produced plastic housings have driven the prices down and caused the demise of some of the small companies that used to make the custom housings.
I would definitely go with Honu-Huggers suggestions. Another worth considering, is look for a NikonosIV or V they can be had for quite a reasonable price on the Bay. and they are very rugged and quite easy to use.
Mike.
