My finder arrived today and appears to be working properly. A quick check of the 50mm and 35mm looks as though parallex is as close as can be seen. I'll check it again when my 85mm and 135mm lens arrive.
I want to do some internal cleaning and was wondering if anybody has done this before and has any tips etc??
I do like the cross hair view but was wondering what is the purpose of the lines around the frames?? :)

Would the lines around the frames be for the framing of the different lenses? I have one of those finders (a Russian version) currently sitting on top of a Zorki 4K.

Each focal length frame has a frame. These line are outside of the actual frame but you can see through them.

Hi Colyn,

I've cleaned mine, and it's pretty straightforward. If you undo the screw on the front the whole lens assembly comes off in one piece, and there was a huge amount of dust and muck in mine. But watch out, there's a ball bearing in there that will fall out. It's the bearing that works the click-stop and is held in place by the spring lever on the right side - you just need to make sure it is back in postion when you re-attach the lens assembly.

I haven't taken the rear panel off (the one holding the eyepiece lens) because two of the three screws won't move. But I don't think there's any need anyway - the vast majority of the muck was in the lens assembly compartment.

was wondering what is the purpose of the lines around the frames?
My guess is that it's just to make it obvious that that area is not part of the view. I like having some extra area because being able to see outside the frame helps me frame better, but I'd much prefer it if there was just a single line marking the frame and the area outside was clear.

Thanks.
I cleaned the rear prism with no problems but wasn't sure about the front.
