Used camera store Hong Kong

Interesting. Well, luckily I'm not looking to buy a camera or lens. The viewfinder I bought appeared to be brand new (and I'm a detail nerd), and it was cheaper than anything in Canada. Many of lenses did seem overpriced, now that you mention it. Still fun to look.

I noticed some shops had competitive/market prices, while some prices were definitely too high.

I'm staying in TST right now also, need help finding film! And a decent place to find a canon charger. Any suggestions. Put most of these shops on my list.

Hop on a bus or the metro going up Nathan Road from TST to Mongkok. Its 5-6 kilometre walk (about 1 hour) at least so a bus is easier unless you feel in the need of exercise. Make your way to Shantung Street (on the right hand side of Nathan Rd when travelling north) and just around the corner from Nathan Road is Sim City on your left (on the northern side of Shantung Street). You will find all kinds of goodies there - most likely including your Canon charger and film. Check out the floor plan and shop list at the link below. The place has three floors and quite a few stores selling cameras, camera accessories and the like as well as other bits n'pieces. Its an engaging place to explore - a bit like a street market only vertical. During peak shopping hours in the evening you had better not be claustrophobic - believe me! I am not and I was still a bit freaked out. Still fun though.

You might also get some ideas from this Youtube site. Matt Grainger (also once known as "That Nikon Guy" - he has a new name as he also does Canon/Leica now) has several vids about camera shopping in HK on his Youtube channel. In some of these he talks about camera gear shopping in Monkok and Sham Shui Po. Examples...........

I like Matts videos. He seems like a nice guy plus he is level headed and knowledgeable. His wife comes from HK so he has close family attachments here and is a good source of info on buying camera gear in HK (that I forgot about in my earlier post on this thread). Also Matt often buys accessories in HK so is useful for your purposes.......................................................
