I've been combing our local kijiji and craig's list sites for used darkroom equipment to get mine going. I'm surprised at how little if anything is available. Has everyone dumped their gear already and I'm just late to the game?

I've got some reels and a tank so far so am looking for clips, cylinders, timer, thermomater, that sort of thing. I'm in London ON, not looking in GTA. Maybe looking for individual stuff is the issue. I'm not familiar enough with the kits to know what to look for.
I think the biggest problem is many people are just throwing dark room stuff out instead of going through the hassle of trying to sell it. I've seen a few enlargers on the curb at garbage day and have had many older photographers tell me "damn, wish I knew you would have wanted the stuff, I just chucked it". A lot of this equipment has been sitting in basements for years, covered in dust and grime, it starts to feel like garbage.
A trend I've also noticed, at least in my area, is the one or two used camera stores will buy up any decent darkroom stuff they see on Craigslist and resell it themselves at close to new prices. All the big box camera stores here have all but purged their darkroom sections and with the availability of new equipment so scarce, the used stores can charge almost full price and get away with it.
