I'm considering buying the x100. However, I need to be able to bring it to the high mountains with temperatures down to -20°C. From the specifications the Operating Temperature is 0°C - 40°C.
Have anyone used it in colder conditions than 0°C? And are there any considerations to be made?
Thanks,
Tommy

Take enough batteries with you. Quite likely, the camera will work well, but batteries can quickly lose capacity as they get cold.
Also, carry the batteries close to your body, so you'll always have a warm one to swap.

I don't know how well it will function at those temperatures but I would recommend getting some silica gel sachets and a zip lock bag to seal the camera in before bringing it indoors. Condensation on and in the cold camera would be a killer.

I speculate the leaf shutter and aperture mechanism will be adversely affected by extreme cold.
I would not depend on the X100 in the temperature range you mention. The same goes for any other camera, analog or digital, that was not designed for extreme cold.
