We probably had bit and pieces of this topic over summer, but here it goes anyway.
Which camera and lens(es) did/will you take on your vacation?
How did it work out?
Any lessons learned (besides additional gear is needed) :D?

We wil be going to Cape Cod for a few days and I decided after painful deliberations to take my black Nikon F with plain prism. I settled on one lens, 50/1.4 AI, or maybe a 35/2 AI, and solely B&W film (Kodak 400CN).
My wife will bring her Nikon D40, so we are all set for the kiddie pics and color.

Ciao

Joerg

The last few trips I've taken I brought an M6 with a 35/50 and a Fuji GA645. The M6 got black and white film while the Fuji got color. A pretty good combo that I've been happy with.

Preparing for two weeks of Alaska, heavily packed: 28/1.9, 50/1.4, 90/2 (Leica), 180/2.8 (OM). At least 3 bodies .... I cann't wait.

Where you going, Joe ?

Going to Hermosa Beach (LA) for four days. Contax IIIa and 50mm Sonnar 1.5. Kodak Gold 200. Grand Babies, baby!

About to head to Moorea in Tahiti in 10 days. Thinking I need M9 + 21/50, FujiGF670, X100 for night time. And might just throw in Retina iia for some colour film. 3 fixed lens bodies and M9 plus 2 all fit nicely into my 6 million dollar home.

I went to Sweden and London, took M8 with 28/2.8, 50/1.1 and 135/4, used 28mm almost exclusively. Back to England next Friday with the same combo

M6, 50 a must and 28 a high priority, 15 if there is room/reason for it.

Rolleiflex if there is space and time.

Rollei 35S as a pocket camera in case I am on the bike.

Cheers,
Rob

a few days in the canadian metropolis called toronto...hoping to meet up with the local rff crew.

For two weeks in Vancouver, I took a Nikon F2 with DP1 finder, and 50mm f1.4 lens.

For 1/2 week in Edmonton, I took a Leica M9, with 50mm and 35mm lenses

As much as I like M system and medium format film, the gear of choice during vacation for me now is Olympus Micro FourThirds. I do take one large aperture M lens & adapter for low light work. Otherwise it covers quite a focal length range. All fits into a tiny lightweight bag. IQ is good, colors are excellent and no hassle or headache to deal with carrying film or the anxiety of whether the vacation pictures will turn out ok.

GH-2, GF-1 and assorted m4/3 lenses, M7/35/50 crons, iphone 4, Nikon F6 and 50/1.8 AFS. Guess which got used the most? And least?

To Belarus took Mamiya Press flattop w/65/6.3, Olypus Stylus Epic, Nikon and Canon digital P&S's. Used only the Mamiya in B&W and the Canon digital P&S.
