First trip with only film in a long time. B&W with M6, Zeiss 35mm f2 on BW400CN - Color with Leica CL, Cron 50mm on Velvia 100.
It was harder than I thought, but I am happy with the results.

Your critique is welcome.

A very nice set. The last one you posted here (boat with driver) is really captivating.

I noticed that your other travel sets were taken with P&S digi cams.

If you don't mind me asking, what prompted you to shoot film in Venice and how do you feel about your results and experience versus the digital P&S?

Very nice!

In a way, I guess it could be harder than you thought because you must slow down. Currently, I am finishing up shooting a six month project all in b&w film and it does seem to be not only slower but it takes more concentration and the results are so different than my digital work.

Ah, Venice, a dream trip along with one to France. Maybe one day we will be able to it.:)

Actually, most of the other stuff is taken with a Canon 40D. Most of my photography is of the family, but I consider it too private to post. Taking roughly 8K photographs a year.

I started in my teens (which is 30 years ago) with a Petri rangefinder. Started longing for the simplicity of that set-up. Actually even with the Leica, having the option to change lenses or carry two bodies, one for B&W and one for colour distracts me. Tried a couple of cameras, first a Canon EOS SLR, then a Contax G1, then a Canon VT, then a Leica CL, and felt really that I came home when I tried an M6. Still a big adjustment though. It is strange how it feels different photographing with an M from other rangefinders.

Got the M6 about two month ago. Built up some confidence and then plunged to take only film, my wife was carrying a dSLR though.
Feel I have settled, once I get to the point that the pics really sing, I will consider switching to an M8 or M9.

One of the things that I find harder about b&w is that you need to see them screen size or printed on at least 4x6 to really appreciate them, with color it is easier to create visually impactful thumbnails like for instance the second one.
What is your experience ?
