'Vietnam' OM1

i think we should put a concerted effort into breaking the cycle of glorifying war photographers. they are all brave people no doubt but too many young folks with cameras think it is a path to glory.

I think there is much good sense in that view.

Here's a new lens I managed to get for only £50... it needed a clean so it was sent off for a service and now it's spotless!

Just to annoy everyone I'm calling it the 'Korea' lens

Hi,

I don't mind the name but you getting it for that price upsets me (sobs).

A wonderful growing family. It seems you have the right approach. Find a bargain and if need be, invest prudently to make her serviceable.

Most excellent kit, what ever you call her.

Thanks chaps and sorry to upset everyone with my bargain... Looking forward to this roll!

Sharing great deals are nothing but good people setting the challenge bar a few centimeters higher!

Let us know how you make out.

How can you call it a Korean lens when Japan is clearly stamped on it?:D JK. I love your OM. I might name my black Canon AV-1;)

The camera's just that. Paint wear & all. It has no effect on history.
BUT!
There's quite a bit of sensitivity about VN.
When you think about the 500,000 men and women who served and then
consider that in the 2000 US census there were over 3,000,000 that claimed to have served there.
We call 'em posers. And worse.

Thanks, yes I was sure that if I held out long enough I'd find someone selling an Olympus body with a nice lens attached 'thrown in' on the deal.

I plan to acquire my other lenses the same way. You can normally tell because they say things like ''...the lense (sic) says 1:1,2 zuiko on it''
