Guys... Too much slang here, for my poor English! Here everybody (boys, girls, old men...) drive scooters, it's not a question to be "man enough": you need to move into the traffic, and a scooter is the solution. An old scooter like this is really "cool". New ones are more "for girls" because easier to drive, but really a lot of people goes by scooter

It's in Itlay, yes, i didn't now it was particularly rare, for sure it's very well restored
 
The new 250 GTS is as cool as any GS scooter from the 60s.

No that`s a pet name for the early pre 1957 Vespa`s ~ note where the headlight is.....low and on the fender, thus they call them "fenderlight" Vespa`s. (the headlight went high on the post 1957 Vespa`s up onto the handlebar).

Fenderlight/Low Light Vespa`s are sexy!!!!

Anything pre 1957 is considered rare here in the USA, I would`nt mind having one to scoot around on ;) ~ I imagine that Italy is full of the vintage one`s still.....?

Ah, ok... the light on the fender is really nice, and I think also very useful, I would like to have a light like that on my little modern scooter.
Vespa's from the '50s are rare even here in Italy, even if it's the second I see in a few weeks. More often you can see old Vespas from the '80s. The PX is very well considered, and who own one of them usually like to have it restored... It's different for the "Cosa" and more modern Piaggio scooters with automatic gear: they are not "cool" at all, with the exception for the new GT: it's really gorgeous, but also expensive... :-( That's why I have a Honda!
Sometime you can see also old Lambrettas... Do you know it? It was the Vespa's rival in the "golden age".
 
Arrrgh! - and I thought this site was infamous for engendering camera lust. Now you've given me a serious dose of Vespa lust, it's been far too many years since I owned one.

Lambrettas are very very cool. Technologically superior to the Vespa (tube frame with all panels removable, for instance) and with very good looks as well. But quite rare now!

Well Karl, I'd have to disagree with that - after all don't modern cars have monocoque construction rather than old fashioned separate chassis & body.
The Vespa is an early two wheeled monocoque vehicle and the clever off centre arrangement of the engine allows placement of spare wheel or luggage on the other side.

As an example of the many design differences between Vespa & Lambretta consider the humble exhaust system: - Early Lambretta exhaust systems are fixed with lots of screws, if just one of those screws is loose then the whole exhaust will fall off within a week. Early Vespa exhausts are held on with just 3 screws and providing they are tight it will cause no problem if one or two are missing.
