Voightlander VC light meter?

Has anyone had any experience with these little Voightlander light meters that mount in the shoe? Are they good ? will they work well on top of a 111A or will it get in the way?
Just curious .. I usually use my spot meter when I use my leica but it is kinda bulky sometimes... I also use an GE sel. that still works great.

I have the VC Meter II and I absolutely love it. Small compact and consistant. I too have an old GE PR-1 that's fine for bright sunny days, but that's not usually when I need a meter :bang: so I got this one. It handles well and looks right on the top of my Kievs and my Iskra. So far it's handled everything I've tried to do with it just fine.

It is reflective only - that's a drawback if you like to do incident metering, but honestly, I've not noticed that lack myself.

I use the double shoe adaptor from Cameraquest with it as it bumps into things on the Kiev, but that kind of thing is dependant upon the individual camera. I don't need it, for example, on my folders. I don't have a IIIa to _know_ but looking at the pictures, I'd say it should just slip in and be fine. If you use external finders alot you'll also want the double shoe adaptor or carry it in your pocket.

Hope this helps,

William

My VC II meter sits on top of my IIIf with no problems, and just great results. In fact, I think it meters more consistently than my handheld sekonic.
As William says, reflected only, but that's not necessarily an issue.
Personally, I wouldn't give it up.

I have the slightly larger VC I clipon meter and it's been reliable and convenient. I use it with my non-metered cams, sometimes clipped on and sometimes just carried in my pocket. Very consistent exposures -- a nice little meter.
