Looking down on my new Heliar, mounted to the Bessa L I can see that the lens wont screw in as far as it should and that the hood is not square with the film plane.
Will this cause a problem?

Can you post a picture? Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but the lens should project a circular image on the film, so even with it not being screwed it properly it will cover the film; however, the built-in petal hood may show and the lens will not focus to infinity properly.

most screwmount lenses screw in a little further than where the top of the lens would be straight up. I don't think it hurts anything, but with a lens with a petal hood, it may!

If it's that minor of a difference I don't see it mattering.I am worried about the hood showing and if it is a problem with the body mount or the lens.

When I look thought images of this lens mounted on various cameras I see it sitting in positions similar to mine as well as perfectly aligned...
