Still not sure how legitimate these rumors are but this site is usually quite accurate, so let the fun begin!

If this is true, I have a lot of faith in VC to create a very competent lens, and I believe it has potential to surpass the Summilux ASPH, that is if it can surpass it's amazing predecessor, 35/1.2.

Thoughts?

Very interesting news.......I too have faith in VC.....they make some really good stuff and I am happy to hear that they are coming out with a new product.....good news indeed....

cheers, michael

I bet we'll hear from Tom A. regarding this since he gets to play with all the new toys first.

holy internet!
isn't it what Fireboy wrote here some days ago? and it comes back as confirmed by another "source"! if i would be Fireboy (as i think he was just joking, mentioning lens in development, but already with the fixed pricetag[!] and so on...) i would laugh my head off.
well done!
before you will all smash me, do i have right to be sceptical?
yeah. i think i do.

This would be kind of interesting, although (for me) the extra 0.1 in f-stop wouldn't be worth it over the 35mm f1.2.

What I would love is to see Voigtlander come out with a 21mm and/or 24mm f2 or even f1.4. I'd love a wide fast lens, but am not going to pay $6,000 for a 21 or 24 Summilux. Come on Cosina, I'd shell out 2k if you made one of those lenses.

My thoughts too - Cosina already had great lenses like 50/1.5 and 35/1.2 and 35/1.7 - so why change? They should really come up with something in 21mm Fl that could compete with Summilux. For me - that is the only lens in a Leica line-up that I would consider, as there are no similar lenses to compete. ZM 21/2.8 was awsome, but still a bit on a slow side. CV 21/4 is great and small, but I would really want to see a CV lens that could complement 35/1.2. So, even if those rumors are true - I have no interest in those lenses as ones I have are more than enough for me. Bring out a fast 21mm - that would get my attention!

Just bought a Nokton 1.5.

AW SHUCKS.

kidding :). But an M-Mount would be great.. the LTM of the Nokton is tempting me into buying a leica iiig :p

:( I was hoping that a 50mm f1.4 would come from Zeiss. I would really like to see that C/Y Planar in M-mount.
But good on CV, at least they're aiming to hold the world record on fast 35mm's. :D

Oh wait.. what am I talking about it's only a rumor... I won't believe anything till I see it.

I'm with you. Good chance they found this "rumor" from a fake post on these forums.
