The Color-Skopar is much handier.

The Elmar-M is optically maybe better (not much), but very much more expensive and a bit clumsy.

The Elmar-M will not fit screw mount Leicas.

There is no Nikon-S mount version of the Elmar-M.

So: Color-Skopar.

I was talking about the Elmar-M LTM, first version, the M version is one of my favorites For my Leica II.

Have You wet printed any with the little skopar, Erik? Good quality? Too much distortion?

I've been offered a S version for S2, but I don't know if I'll like Nikon RF more tan barnack system. Maybe finder is better for 50mm.

No, the Color-Skopar has not much distortion, but the Elmar has absolutely none. Optically the Color-Skopar is much better than the old Elmar: more contrast and a nice sharpness. It is very good for wet printing, much better than the old Elmar.

The S Color-Skopar 50mm is perfect for the Nikon S2.

I love the size and handling of this little gem. It does a great job in digital as well - attached is with a Leica M-D. Lightroom now has a profile for this lens, as well as most of the Voigtlanders.
