Voigtlander 50mm f/1 Nokton Images Thread

After a few months of patiently waiting, I was thrilled to receive my copy of the 50mm f/1 Nokton last week. I was excited to see how it would render on film when shot with a rangefinder. Most (if not all) the examples I've seen, up to this point, were all taken digitally.

The lens is well built...but it is just well built as most of my Voigtlander lenses (some of them have slightly better/worse fit-and-finish than others...but only if you're really nit-picky). It is large and heavy, but too much so that I don't mind having it permanently mounted to my camera. The focus throw and dampening are very nicely suited to precision focusing (to the best of my ability) an f/1 lens on a rangefinder.

I've had the chance to put a some rolls through my M5. I'll post some examples below (these are by no means exceptional images...just snaps from a guy excited about his new lens) and more as I develop/scan. If others want to add to the thread, go for it (open to any camera combo).

Great stuff as always, Jim! Looks like that new lens is a good match for the M5.
 
Oh, and just for reference, I believe this is the newest ultra fast 50mm f/1 from Voigtlander, released in January 2022. Yes, f/1.0, not f/1.1 or f/1.2. The Head Bartender has some more information here:

A bit confusing because of Voigtlander's naming convention, including other 50mm Nokton varieties and versions. For example, looks like Peter's image posted above is from a different, older 50mm f/1.1.

Thanks for clarifying. Indeed, I intended this thread to be of images from the new (released in January 2022) 50mm f/1 Nokton.
 
The CV 50mm 1.0 1.1 and 1.2 lenses seem to be excellent, but the 50/1 that Jim used here is especially good.
 
There are many things that are impressive about this lens. The bokeh is smooth, but not boringly smooth...it has character. There is almost zero geometric distortion.

The supplied felt-lined bayonet hood is very nice...but I have not used it. If I were adapting to mirrorless, it would be excellent. But, on a rangefinder, the viewfinder blockage is too much (plus it doesn't fit over the variable ND I use). Thankfully, the lens is very resistant to flare, so the point is mostly moot.

It is contrasty, but not overly so. It handles harsh lighting well.

That's all I've got for now. All two of my rangefinder cameras are off at their respective doctors. Hopefully others will share some images from this lens.
