Nice photos! How are you getting such good ISO 1600 out of your XP2?

thanks!

>>The Skopar is indeed a beautiful lens. I love the built quality and the rendering. I love its high contrast (as some may not). It's simply beautiful on my IIf with the additionnal square shade.

Here are a few samples with XP2 film at 1600 using an orange filter on.

Regarding the 50mm Heliar it seems to have a very, very small amount of pincushion distortion when straight lines are very close to the edges. However it seems to have very very low distortion to me. I looked at some photos I took with a latest gen. 50mm summicron and they showed more barrel distortion than the Heliar shows pincushion distortion in these very extreme situations.

Look at this shot from the Shutterbug interview. It's very very little, allthough it's a very extreme situation. I have to say I'm impressed by this lens, at least when it comes to distortion..

I got the Nokton for my Canon 7 because it is such a big camera it looks weird with a small lens. Normally I prefer f2.8 (f2.5) lenses.

I use the Color Skopar 50f2.5 and the Heliar 50f2 on my R4M. No problem, but of course the 50 frame is small, very small. I consider it being an emergency "frame". Up to the 35 it works extremely well and of course with 21/25/28 it is unique.
I did some shots with "faster" lenses on the R4M (Canon 50f1.2, Asph Summilux 50 and ZM Sonnar 50f1.5) and if you are careful, it works even wide open with these lenses. But on the other hand, shooting at 1.2-1.5 and close you REALLY need to check the focus anyway.

I got my Heliar f2/50 with my R4M, and I found that it seems not so easy to make a precise focusing when focused at a distant object. Is that something to do with EBL (effective base line)? If that is true, were it possible easier to focus with a Leica M6 than my R4M?
