Voigtlander CV 50mm f/1 with Leica M10

In open shade it is really fun to set the lens to wide open and then play with light and colors or B&W. You will most likely get interesting looking images. Unlike the 7Artisans 50/1.1, there is hardly any vignette with the CV 50/1. The colors come out crisp and lush. I have taken hundreds of images with the new CV, and I like the results.

The subtleties of color gradations and acuity are eye-catching.

This is true about this lens. I am thrilled by the details this lens can capture. While I usually choose light lenses for a trip, I am considering to travel this summer with this lens alone and the M10.

It is nonetheless a big & heavy lens for travel.

I know :( I have had such thoughts too.

I may have to use instead one of my light lenses such as the Zeiss Jena 5cm 1.5 ltm or Zeiss Planar 45mm/2 M or a Summicron 50/2. You can't go wrong with the Summicron..
It is good to have such options.

You prefer the Summicron over the Planar? I had heard the Planar was second only to the Leica 50 APO.

I don't have the 50mm Planar or the Summilux 50mm/1.4. I use whatever I happen to own. You seem to focus on extra sharpness.

Depends on the subject. Like you, I’ve got the 75 Summilux as well for character, in addition to the 50 Rigid, 35 Summaron f/2.8 and Nikkor 50/2 LTM.

I like a lot the Pentax-M 50/1.4 converted to M mount. The overall image quality looks very nice to me. I take thousands of photos over the years, and the frequency in which use certain lenses reflects how I view using them.
