Voigtlander CV 50mm f/1 with Leica M10

Wide-open, the high central sharpness and bokeh look more appealing and compelling than the 50 Noctilux.
Impressive, if it were 1/2 the cost, stunning for 1/7th the cost.

I agree with you. Stunning is the right word to use.

I have some newly taken images with this lens.

I am now carrying with me the CV 50/1 and also the Summilux 75/1.4. This is a tough choice between which of these two lenses I want to use.

Thank you for the feedback, Erik/ Yes, this lens will also do very well with B&W. It focuses super smoothly and it is easy to focus the lens wide open without any magnifier or wearing glasses (for me).

I have now switched cameras, and the CV 50/1 is on the M9 and not the M10. I want to look for differences.

Raid, please keep the photos coming.

I have no idea how many of these lenses are arriving with each monthly shipment, but please keep posting to whet the appetites of those of us that are patiently waiting for our Noktons to show up.

I took a short break from using the CV 50/1, but this morning I decided to use it on the M10 for some photos as vendors were setting up their tents for the Pensacola Crawfish Festival. The max aperture of 1 is useful when the light is at a low level and I tried to exploit this feature when possible. In sunshine, I used mainly f 8 and ISO 200. In the shade I used f 1 and ISO 200.
I added 40 new images this morning. There was no editing at all of any sort. No PS.

This lens is super easy to focus wide open. It opens up the possibility to vary the aperture from (say) 1.0~8 in open shade. This makes taking photos of people very easy, and the results can be wonderful. It works well in color and in B&W.
I have used it with my M9 and my M10. The main difference is the buffer in each camera. With the M9 I take one photo and then I take a deep breath, waiting and hoping that the M9 will not shut down due to low battery ... etc. Using the M10 allows quick back to back photos. The M9 has nicer looking colors, though.

The OOF looks very attractive. It should be in almost every photographer's camera bag. Maybe :)
