Voigtlander M 35/1.2 Nokton photos...

test it and if it's really a lemon have it repaired / replaced on warranty?
mine is certainly not as brutally sharp as the asph summicron, but absolutely useable at all apertures, not horrible at all (I have used the asph cron).

At 2.8 the Nokton is as sharp and has less vigetting than the Zeiss 35mm biogon-C, which says a lot about the Nokton's sharpness. I know this because I compared the two when deciding if I should keep the Zeiss.

The Cron ASPH is a very simple lens. Nice sharpness and contrast but plain in drawing, quite like the Lux. The Nokton has a much nicer rendition. Most Lux owners (on the leica forum) tend to disagree with me, so what do i know?

Thanks guys...I should have stated that better. I know the Cron is supposed to be excellent in sharpness but looking at the two next to eachother....even at f/8 is a joke. The Nokton is way off. I should have my answer tonight though. I did a series of shots on the M8 at lunch. Looks like it is definitely back focusing a good bit. The M8 screen is so poor it is hard to tell but almost certain of it. Anyways....I need to at least post a couple shots :)

Those photos look fine to me... being sharp isn't the be all end all... if the images work, they work regardless of if they are tack sharp or not.

Michael, good stuff, I like the one of the boy with his dad's foot :) Your colors are great as usual!

Here's a portrait I shot a little over a week ago during the workshop I was following in Derby. You'll recognize the face no doubt.
My final workshop selection of portraits can be seen on my website.
Shot wide open on the M8, as I did with all of them.
