Hey all, just picked up a voigtlander vc meter for my fuji 6x9. Unfortunately the meter doesn't fit properly in the cold shoe(I have the first GW model) and I tried using electrical tape for some tightness but it slid right off. Anyone know of a good solution to this problem? I've thought about unscrewing the cold shoe and flattening it with a hammer a bit, but that would be a last resort effort.

I fold the box end flap of a roll of 120/220 and stick it in the shoe before mounting the VC meter. I do this on my Leicaflex SL's cold shoe, and it produces a snug fit that's not permanent; I don't like sticky tape residue on my shoes

The cold shoe on my Leica is a bit off kilter, either that or the retention spring on one side of the shoe is weaker than the other. So it doesn't sit straight, nor sit very well. In any case I use a bit of cardboard from the film box lodged between the shoe and the meter. Bashing the shoe with a hammer seems a bit excessive. For a more permanent solution I would look into mounting stronger retention springs.

That works for me too.

Excellent! Thanks for the responses gentlemen, I'm quite fond of this camera right now despite it's age and am glad to hear the simple fixes.
