back to basics
So I received Bobkonos' Canon VT today, with the 50/1,5 I have been lusting for.
That kinda heavy little lens feels too small on the camera though.
Together with the 50/1,2 it's another story though. This combo looks and feels like they were made to match. They were marketed at about the same time.
The big lens misses the slow speed dial by about a single millimeter. It stops just short of the infinity lock.
Coincidence in design doesn't exist.
And to make it even more unlikely: the lens is tipping the body over to lean on the filter ring. Without lenscap and with a film installed, the balance is just stable on the bottom plate! Even with the lens extended for short range.
I wouldn't be surprised if the big 50/1,2 hood would be 77mm in diameter. Then it would be flush with the VT base... But me being a mere mortal I can't check that.
