Okay,
I just got vuescan as its supposed to be the best scanning program around. However when I installed it no shortcut was created. I copied the .exe to the desktop to deal with this for now, but now everytime I click on it than I have to give permission from the user account control dialog box thing. Is there anyway to fix this?
Thanks in advance
Chris

Why don't you just create a shortcut yourself? Leave the executable in the folder where it belongs. Dragging executables around all the time is a Bad Idea.
There's like a bazillion ways to do create a shortcut, but one of them is right-clicking on your desktop to bring up the menu, selecting "New...", selecting "...Shortcut". Tell the system where to find the file, and there you are.

I havent used Windows in years but I'd imagine its till the same. Right click on the .exe file and click "Create Shortcut". You'll see a new icon appear, this is the shortcut, put it wherever you like.
