It would help to know what operating system you're running. Go to your Device Manager (Windows) and see if the scanner is listed there under Imaging Devices or if it's under Other with an exclamation point or not there at all. If it's under Imaging Devices and it says it's working properly then you need to look at the software, make sure that you're using the 32 bit version of Vuescan. If there's an exclamation point in Device Manager then you'll likely need to install the driver. If it doesn't show up at all check cables and connectivity.Any help gratefully recieved!!...I have downloaded everything, installed everything..But, Vuescan tells me no scanner is found..also I re downloaded the drivers for Plustek 8100 again..

Hi I found an unnamed scanner in the devices..In the programmes list there are two Viewscans, one just viewscan the other, ditto desktop which I was clicking, is viewscan 32 which doesn't work.
So I'm just about to try scanning using the plain Viewscan which recognises the Plustek but could you tell me, how do I check first if it's the 32 bit version?
Thanks VERY much.

Recently Vuescan changed where the program files go. Not certain why, just know it's in a different location than from forever. I am now however able to keep both 32 bit and 64 bit installed on my system and use them both at the same time for different scanners (my flatbed is 32 bit only whereas my other scanners are 64 bit). If you open Vuescan and look at the top of the program you should see Vuescan 9 x32 (9.2.04) or whatever version you have. The x32 is 32 bit, x64 would mean 64 bit.
I hope you get it working well.

Thanks Dan.
The Version I have is 9x64 (9,0,94)..Why do I need 32 bit rather than 64 bit for the Plustek?
Sorry for MORE questions!

I'm a very happy VueScan user, but I've verified from Mr. Hamrick that this particular thing is not possible. Other than that, I love it and use it for all my serious scans.
Lack of the custom multi-crops has encouraged me to be more selective of what I do scan. In a roundabout way, that is a good thing.
Oh, I am a very happy user as well (lifetime license). I just have to come back to the machine every few minutes to select the next frame.
Now if I could just figure out how match Vuescan multi-crop grids with the frame holders of my HP Scanjet G4050 it would be even more awesome

Crop size: Manual
X size: 24
Y size: 38.55
Auto offset: off (usually)
X offset: 6.689
Y offset: 0
Multi crop: Custom
X images: 5
Y images: 6
X spacing: 42
Y spacing: 38.55
X padding: 0
Y padding: 20.997
X linked, Y linked: off
Show Multi outline: checked
Auto rotate: off
Lock Aspect ratio: off
Border % 0
Buffer % 15
This gets you close, I don't know how to make the offset settings per row behave though.
