My beloved cat passed away a little more than 2 years ago, and I lived alone until my wife finally moved in a bit ago. I really couldn't bring myself to get another cat as my cat.
Over the weekend, we welcomed our new (to us) black kitty to our home from the cat cafe/shelter across the bay. She was "hood-cat" in the street of Oakland, surviving the first 2-3 years of her life on her own.
