Laurel Grove Cemetery, Port Townsend, Washington. A place of special importance to me, many of my ancestors are at this site, including Alfred Plummer, founder of Port Townsend. Alfred is my great-great-grandfather.

Some of these, like this one above, are just heartbreaking. Much nice work here in the thread as a whole. The subject seems to 'focus' people's minds.

Twins.

Every time I look at this image I wonder about the anguish to which it remains a mute testament. And the likely fact that no living person recalls these children, nor can anyone's memory recall anything about the resulting fabric of the lives of the parents. All vanished, excepting the gravestones, as if it had never happened, while we wander along, locked inside the Church of What's Happening Now. Or so it often seems to me.
