It's from the cemetery at Manzanar in Eastern California where the US interned Americans of Japanese descent (Sansei), Japanese Americans (Nissei) and Japanese Nationals (Issei) for the duration of WWII in one of about a dozen concentration camps.

Thanks, I have a rather mixed opinion of it and I kind of wished I used a different aspect ratio. Oh well.
Wyoming has the remnants of one of these camps that you can visit for yourself.
Most of us Americans in our lifetimes visit them if for no other reason as a reminder.
