Not saying you're wrong, but the likelihood of that being a real RS is slim at best. It's dressed up to look like one, but real ones are too pricey to be seen out in the wild like that, even in Japan, IMO.

Considering the fact that Mike has seen cars like the Toyota 2000GT (which have sold for similar money) sitting in parking lots over there, I wouldn't automatically rule it out. That said, I'll admit that the mixed wheel colors on that Porsche are sort of a strange choice. Maybe this represents something of significance in the Porsche world?

If they were Minilights in the rear that's a hot rod type thing in the P-car world. Racers used to use them a lot. Now the wannabe racers do.

A-O-A, Guth,

When I was moving closer to the Porsche to take some pictures of it from the rear end I noticed that the driver was still inside the car; and he was twisting around and staring at me with a “what the hell are you doing” look on his face. So, I kept walking in the direction of the sidewalk and moved on down the boulevard. I don’t like to bother people.

I’m going to go back there again next Sunday and if the same Porsche is there I’ll try and get some pictures of the back end name plate and badge.

All the best,
Mike

Good luck Mike. When it comes to the 911, starting from the mid-80's and working backwards through the years, the design just gets better and better looking to me.

Around here if you'd just held up the camera with a 'can I shoot a picture of your car' look on your face, you would have been OK to take some shots. At least when I had my Porsche's out in the wild, I would have let you.
