I just went back in time to when I was a kid! I remember seeing these types of Japanese cars in a Tamiya model catalog and being amazed by their designs. Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Datsun.... They seemed so different from the ones I saw every day. Thank you Mike!

Looks like somebody pimped their ride

There's no accounting for taste, is there.

I will admit, back in the day, my neighbor did paint his rear quarter side trim the same way on his '57 black sport coupe.

1971 Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-Type R Coupe
It's the first time for me to see on of these on the road.

Per Wikipedia: The GT-R, more specifically GT Type-R (for "racing"), was a racing version of the GT, also available to individual customers. First presented in September 1969, the GT-R featured a 1.6 L DOHC engine from the 117 Coupé, power brakes and numerous other modifications. Available only with two-door notchback coupé bodywork It was visually different from other Belletts primarily by a specific paint scheme, which included a completely black hood. The GT-R achieved many successes in racing, and has gained its own fan community. Only about 1,400 GT-Rs were manufactured.
