Mike, I appreciate that you identify the classic cars that you photograph. I know most of them, but occasionally I don't and the identification really helps.
I'd have to say that I appreciate captions, in general. I see a lot of great photos here of interesting subjects, but with no explanation. I consider that a provocation and a violation of my curiosity!

Mike,
That is one pretty Lotus...but ya gotta be young and in shape to get in and out of one...gracefully...
About ten years ago our neighbor had a Lotus Elise and that car was tough for me to exit...

I figure for me to get into a Lotus Europa I'd need two people with a body board to kind of shoehorn me in. Once in I'd probably never be able to get back out.

That Lotus looks somewhat lower even than my little Porsche Cayman... These kinds of cars you just fall into, then you climb out, just the opposite of a pickup, say, where you climb in with a hand-hold and sorta jump out.

A pretty little Porsche for Doug
These images were taken the same day as the Lotus.
I had to run half a city block to get these before the light turned green and the car was gone..

I too always appreciate captions when it comes to this thread (as well as many others). I’m guessing that in many cases the photographer simply doesn’t know the details when it comes to the vehicle they’ve managed to capture. Though it certainly doesn’t hurt, one does not need to be all that familiar with automobiles in order to capture nice images of them. I’ll admit that I sometimes enjoy having my own automotive knowledge tested. And when someone posts an image of a vehicle I can’t identify for certain, I find some level of entertainment in searching for a positive identification to see if my guess was correct.I'd have to say that I appreciate captions, in general. I also enjoy learning about the details of the gear/film/camera settings used when provided. On the other hand, I’ve captured a number of vehicles that I haven’t shared here simply because I was using my smartphone — which strikes me as somewhat ironic given that this is the rangefinder forum.

That is likely the nicest Europa I’ve ever seen. Though this isn’t saying all that much as I don’t care for the looks of the Europa in general. When it comes to design, few cars seem to divide opinions to the extent that the Europa does. This particular paint scheme really appears to minimize the aspects of the car’s design that I find so awkward to look at (at least from the angle shown here).Lotus Europa

That said, I’d love a chance to drive one. As songwriter Steve Forbert wrote “Driving a Jaguar’s impressive but you can’t watch it go by”.

I remember attending an auto show where a Lotus Elise was on display. I was in my 30’s then, still very healthy and not at all overweight. Though I could manage to get into and out of the Elise just fine at that time, there was definitely nothing graceful about it. I then watched a number of others demonstrate their own inability to get into and out of this car in a graceful manner. That is one pretty Lotus...but ya gotta be young and in shape to get in and out of one...gracefully...

Unlike the Europa, I find the Elise to be a beautiful design (though I understand that not all do, which is inevitably true of any vehicle). I decided that the difficulty associated with the ingress and egress of the Elise was just part of the cost of admission, just as it is with so many other true sports cars. This also explains the popularity of GT’s to some degree.
Fortunately I find images of cars interesting to look at regardless of how difficult they may be to get into or out of or what they might be like to drive. Thank goodness for this thread and others like it here on this forum. As is true of countless other things, an image of a car might not necessarily be a great image from the standpoint of good photography, but it can still be very enjoyable to look at just the same.

I bought my first car back in 1979 — this '72 Triumph Spitfire. I would eventually save up enough money to buy a decent set of Michelin blackwall tires, but not before taking this photo.
