Dee Why lagoon has overflowed and carved a channel across the beach to the sea after heavy rain. Once it has drained the waves will close the sand barrier and the cycle will repeat once the lagoon fills again. At first I thought there were only a few seagulls in this picture, but on closer inspection I found at least 9.
