Degas captured the beauty of dance - in art and sculpture - but he also used photography.

I've noticed a lot of excellent dance photos in the gallery over past years, from poetic motion studies to off-stage portraits.

Let's see your photos of dancers in motion and at rest. Photos of a dancer's world, such as ballet shoes, are also welcome.

I'll kick this off with some photos I took of a ballet school concert in about 1975. Not in the same league as some others, but it will get this thread started. All taken with an OM1 plus 50/1.8, Tri-X:
