W/NW Interesting photos from seemingly boring scenery

Ozreth, remember it's the light you're photographing. Light can do interesting things in boring locations, as other photos posted above attest. Look at what the light is doing, everywhere.. how it reflects, forms shadows, highlights textures, creates negative space, models shapes (i.e. how it falls on objects to reveal their shape), creates silhouettes, has colour and mood...

I suppose I'll have to do some learning in regards to how to use the light to my advantage.

I'm definitely looking at all of these pictures and realizing that I have similar scenes around my house and on my street. Thanks for the inspiration all! Keep em comin if you have them :)
 
My hat's off to those talented photographers who are able to see beauty and excitement in the average .... a talent that I most assuredly do not posses. I am as always in awe of those who can shoot images like the ones in this thread. Bravo!

I must make the comment that some of the images being posted in this thread are stretching the 'around the house' concept that the OP conveyed.
